Small Block (SB) Chevrolet Professional Products Power+Plus Intake Manifolds
1957 - '95 SB Chevrolet V8 |
||
This all-around street manifold is a direct replacement for the
stock intake manifold on non-EGR engines. To allow fitment on 1987-'95
cylinder heads, the
manifold includes special adapter bushings, as well as an adapter plate
to permit use of certain square bore carburetors. These manifolds are cast from permanent steel molds, not
sand, providing a tighter grain casting that reduces porosity and
eliminates core shifting. Each one is 100% pressure tested to
assure no leaks. |

This
manifold is essentially identical to the above model except it's
designed to fit the 1996 and later Vortec style cast iron head (Gen1+),
which features eight vertical attachment bolts (instead of 12 angled
attachment bolts). This manifold will also work on 1996 and later
Vortec engines, or engines equipped with Edelbrock E-Tec aluminum
heads. As with most Professional Products manifolds, this one features
four corner water ports and is also supplied with an adapter plate to
permit the use of most square bore carburetors such as the popular
Holley, Demon and Edelbrock. |

This
manifold features a unique, new rear water crossover passage design (an
industry exclusive) that
is unmatched by any other manufacturer. Its approximately 3/8" taller
than the above manifolds and comes with a square bore carburetor flange
(which accepts most of the popular aftermarket carburetors),nitrous
bosses, and four corner water ports. This manifold's most distinctive
feature is a rear water crossover passage, which contributes
significantly to a cooler running engine. This is the only SB Chevy
manifold with this feature, making it an outstanding all-around street
manifold. |

This
is a very popular high-performance street manifold. A 600-700 CFM vacuum secondary carburetor is recommended for most street
applications or a 700-800 CFM double pumper carburetor for
high-performance street use and bracket racing. This design produces
outstanding power and is .70" taller than the 52000/52001
model. It has provision to machine for front oil fill tube, no
provision for exhaust heated or stock style chokes and it will not fit
under a stock Corvette hood. |

This
manifold has all the same features as the above model except it's
designed with an open area under the plenum (commonly referred to as an
air gap design), which helps cool the incoming fuel/air charge and
produces additional horsepower. This is a truly outstanding
high-performance street manifold and one of our best sellers. |

SB Chevrolet V8 w/Vortec Heads |

This
top-selling manifold is very popular on a number of crate engines. It's
been selected for use by leading crate engine builders, because it outperformed other competitive manifolds
by a significant margin in
comparison dyno tests and
was also less costly. Featuring a similar design to the above two
models, this manifold offers nitrous bosses, four corner water ports
and dual distributor hold downs. We recommend using the Power+Plus
intake gaskets (#52605) that feature silicone sealing beads and
are also significantly less expensive than competitive gaskets. If your
engine has Vorted heads you can't buy a better street manifold for it
than this one. |

Hurricane for 1957 - '95 SB Chevrolet V8 |
||
The
Hurricane model has long been the "leader of the pack" in single-plane
manifolds for small block Chevys with 23° cylinder heads. Providing
more than enough power for most applications, this
model is extremely efficient in its ability to achieve maximum power
and torque, while actually using less fuel in doing so. It has also
consistently outperformed all of the well-known, more expensive brands
in dyno tests -- clarifying that there is no better manifold of this
type. |

Super Hurricane for 1957 - '95 SB Chevrolet V8 |
||
The
Super Hurricane features a larger plenum and bigger runners than the
other Hurricane models. It is specifically designed for the new range
of large cubic inch small blocks and works best on engines over 400
cubic inches. On the
now available 427 and 454 small blocks, there is no other manifold that
will produce the power and torque of the Super Hurricane. It's also
available machined for injectors and can be ported out to a Fel-Pro
1205-1207 gasket. When setting up for fuel injection, we recommend
using the 10608 Complete Fuel Rail Kit with this model. |

Hurricane+Plus for SB Chevrolet V8 w/Vortec Heads |
||
The
Hurricane+Plus is the best performing single plane race style manifold
available for engines using the 1996 and later Vortec (Gen 1+) cylinder
heads. It has been proven over and over in dyno tests and on track use
to provide unequaled power and performance. It features four corner
water ports, a tapped fifth port in the front face, nitrous bosses and
dual distributor hold downs. We recommend the Power+Plus #52605 intake
gaskets which have silicone sealing beads and are significantly less
expensive than competitive gaskets for Vortec heads. This is one of our
top selling manifolds. |

Hurricane+Plus for 1957 - '95 SB Chevrolet V8 |
||
After three years of extensive development, this manifold has been created to outperform the Hurricane (the best performing single plane manifold for 23° cylinder heads). Depending on the specific engine combination, consumers have experienced as much as 20 extra horsepower over the standard Hurricane. Note that this extra power is mostly showing up over 7,000 rpm. So, if you aren't turning your engine in the 7,000 to 8,000 rpm range, stick with the standard Hurricane. because anything below 7,000 rpm is only 3 or 4 more extra horsepower. This manifold also has all the special features found in our other Hurricane manifolds.
