If you have kept up on the latest news you've surely heard about all the rage with the new multi-layer stainless steel construction (MLS) gaskets. These MLS gaskets are comprised of multiple layers of stainless steel. MLS gaskets use stainless steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and corrosion resistance. The outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a flourelastomer rubber based material (Viton) designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes.
The center of shim layer of the gasket is comprised of an uncoated stainless steel layer, which can be varied to accomodate mulitple thickness requirements. The MLS gasket is ideal for both aluminum heads to cast iron blocks and aluminum heads to aluminum blocks. The composition of these gaskets will also withstand the shearing forces created by aluminum heads on cast iron blocks. No re-torque is necessary. By design the gasket promotes an even torque load across the sealing surface allowing for measurable reduced bore distortion. Compressed thickness of these gaskets is 0.040".
This MLS gasket is ideal for use on aluminum heads and blocks or iron heads and blocks. This gasket is Versatile it will work in all combinations! No worries! The best designed gasket ever made!
This gasket can be used in applications with Boost, NOS and a must on high compression heads. Don't worry they can also be used on your street vehicle. It may be overkill on your street unit but for the price it is hard to find a cheap set of OEM replacements!
